Faren Lozier

Having worked in various child-based programs over the last 15 years, Faren found her passion for Early Childhood Education while working as a KinderCare instructor in Vancouver. Upon completing her ECE certification at Capilano University and several other training programs, she and her colleagues helped with the establishment of Hudson Preschool in Kitsilano. After working at Hudson for 3 years, Faren returned to Williams Lake to further her experience in the field. In 2018 she visited the city of Reggio Emilia, Italy, and toured the famous Centro Internzionale Loris Malaguzzi, teaching the educational approach that continues to inspire her. These include strongstart, preschool, afterschool care, family gym nights, the CCRR, group daycare as well as infant and toddler. Raylea has been greatly appreciative of the different mentors throughout her childcare learning, some of her most influential coming from the Reggio Emilia Approach and Maria Montessori. “ We are here to support and encourage our children to grow into their own unique individuals, to live a healthy balanced life, to help flourish their dreams, to spark wonder and curiosity, to guide them through problem solving steps and to be that safe place for our children when they need it.”

They live on a cattle ranch on the outskirts of Williams Lake, where she is constantly learning each time she gets the opportunity to help on the ranch, whether that’s bottle feeding calves, moving cows or just an extra pair of hands. Starting her journey in childcare has changed the direction of her life. She appreciates what it  means to be part of teaching children, about our world and the effect we have on our world. She’s never been in a better place to be continuously learning and looks forward to meeting lots of new children here at Exploring the Puddle.
